Hi, well while ago i repasted with IC7 (almost 2 years) and i have undervolted to -100mv . I dont know if its time to re paste but im getting temps of 86c on cpu and 75c on gpu (full speed on fans).

CPU temp seem rather high for gaming, I'd say repaste is in order at least for the CPU.

And also clean out any dust / debris that may have collected on the fan blades, cooling fins, etc.

GPU's fine, but the CPU is starting to get a little warm. Nothing dangerous, but if you're used to lower temps at the same usage, I agree with @Danishblunt to go ahead and repaste.

Did you just decide on 100mv or was that tested as the lowest stable?

Its was the lowe stable, but i just finish and this time i used thermal grizzly paste and the temps drop to 71 on cpu and 68 on gpu. IC7 it was all dry.

Wow i never thought that the cpu will get that lower

First time I've seen ICD7 dry out. Weird.

It can under certain conditions, leaves a funny smell too I've found. Partly why I moved to using thermal grizzly when I use paste.

The scratches shouldn't have any big impact on thermal conductivity, especially considering the whole point of compound is to address imperfections. That is quite an impressive drop in temps, BTW!

If the paste dried, and you only used alcohol, then you worked too hard and scratched the surface. Next time, use some Goof Off and remove the dried portions, as it will come off easily. Then wash with alcohol to remove latent residue.

I tended to rub lightly with just a kitchen paper towel and it was fine.

I highly doubt ICDiamind made the scratches, also the funny smell is somthing I can confirm.

It can scratch, the diamond particles will gouge in the right circumstances, especially during removal.

Don't think I ever experienced scratches with it, though I just used some lint free wipes and high % rubbing alcohol, came right off.

If you are light with it you can avoid it mostly but after a couple of dozen applications from when I was testing thermal pad thickness and volt mods etc, it can start to have an impact even if you are gentle with it.
