I'm ordering a 7700HQ / 1070 from HID and am curious about the CLU vs IC Diamond. I have no plans to overclock but I will game and want this thing to stay cool(er). It will be on my desk most of the time but I will also have it in a backpack when I travel. I see mixed messages here on using CLU on this model and leakage. I have no plans to perform any mods to this laptop and just want it to work. Should I stick with the IC Diamond or pay the extra for CLU. How much of a temp decrease will I realistically see? Has anyone ever had theirs (from HID) leak causing irreparable damage? If so, how was the warranty honored? Thanks!

I do believe they seal the chip using tape to help reduce the risk, otherwise it would be covered under warranty so if you are a hands off person then go for it.
