I purchased OBSIDIAN-PC Updater and installed SoundBlaster Connect through this software. Audio works fine, however Sound Blaster isn't working. "Your Audio device cannot be detected". Any help?

Its actually kind of buggy. You need to make sure to install only the Audio driver and restart before doing anything else. Otherwise it occasionally doesnt detect it.

Check if Windows Update is giving you a "new" driver for the audio device after you install your driver. I've had this happen with quite a few devices lately and it can give issues like this. The Connect software expects a certain driver but then Windows Update forcibly installs a generic driver ontop which screws things up.

And how to block Windows from updating driver components as well as SBC?

What does sound blaster connect offer over standard audio Realtek driver?

    ^ PS

I just installed creative audio, and allowed it as a startup program. What a difference it has made. This is all software control? Or hardware related?

I enables the SoundBlasterX acoustic engine, and the Equalizer.

it sounded much louder in game.

It's tweaking the sound output like any modern equalizer.
