Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct spot to ask this, but anyways. As the title states I'm looking at one of these 2 laptops, and the only question I really have is the 17 inch one really that much bigger? Its hard to picture just with numbers and pictures. Because it really seems worth it to upgrade to the better cooling and audio (does the sub increase quality at all?) for a little bit less portability seeing as they are almost the same price on HIDEvolution (with Gsync screens). Any help would be great!

They're basically the same computer, albeit the larger chassis and larger screen size. The larger chassis might allow for slightly better airflow (and thus, thermal conductivity), but the cooling systems work identically; the larger system doesn't yield a huge difference in temps. The audio quality is the same between the two.

As far as the screen size difference goes? It's rather noticeable, strangely (I mean, c'mon... it's less than 2" difference, but people really do notice it). Is it a deal maker/breaker? Maybe for some. Personally, I like the balance the 15.6" screens give when it comes to a portability to practicality ratio.

i probably will just go for the 15 inch. Seems like the increase in size really doesn't give much in any other category besides the screen. Thanks!

The 17" with 1060M does have the cross heatpipe into the CPU heatsink where as the 15 inch with 1060M does not (the 1070M versions both have the shared heatsink).

The CPU heatsink is larger as a result in the 17 inch version so overall cooling is improved.

You also get a subwoofer in the 17 inch.

Given the components in these beasts, better to go with the 17" just for the cooling, I really wanted a 15" laptop but running a 1070 full load concerned me regarding temps, or if you even want to think about overclocking.

Yea I'm starting to lean towards the 670. Plus OCing the panel to 75Hz sounds like a fabulous bonus to the cooling
