    Hi all,

    So I have a P650SE since February, 10th and it has been perfect so far, except that when I needed the HDMI port it wouldn't work:
    - HDMI Cable connected (and it has been tested with other laptops)
    - TV detects an active HDMI Connection (otherwise it would be grey)
    - "No Projector Detected"

    What I have done so far:
    - Reinstaled Windows 7 (3 times) also instaled Win 10 Technical Preview in case the issue was related to the Win 7 Drivers
    - Reinstaled both Intel and Nvidia drivers (347.52 and 344.60) with no success regarding hdmi; GPU is working as I have been able to play Shadow of Mordor in it;
    - Reinstaled the Chipset drivers
    - Switched HDMI Cables and hdmi ports in TV tested with other laptops, so i'm ruling out cables and tv issue

    What I haven't done so far:
    - I haven't tested in another monitor/tv and I will do it on Monday;
    - Lack of mini-display port adapter doesn't allow to test if it is only the hdmi port or the mini-displays are also broken;
    - I'm pretty sure my BIOS isn't up to date (1.03.05), I will ask the reseller to do it in my presence;
    - I had experience in opening and mainting desktops but laptops are another level;

    What I suspect it is?
    - Faulty hdmi port;
    - HDMI might be disconnected - the reseller installed an hdd in front of me right before handling the pc to me (I asked for a ssd and a hdd and they only installed the ssd);
    - I might be missing something pretty clear and a simple solution must be ahead but I've spent a couple of hours and a lot of browsing in forums for solutions to my problem and couldn't find none.

    I'm running out of options here and I would like to ask for your help before I go to my reseller (they shouldn't pose any trouble if it is really hw related)

    Thanks

    Is it safe to assume you tried configuring the displays in the Windows Display/Screen Resolution properties? And that you used FN and F7 to toggle between displays?

    Yes. When I connect the hdmi to the laptop nothing changes on the pc side. The tv recognizes the connection because that port isn't greyed anymore, but the pc doesn't show any additional display, intel hd graphics control panel only lets me see and change the Built-in Display and the Windows Options are the same, both FN+F7 and Windows-key+P give me back a "No Projector detected"

    Honestly, it's sounding like a bad port (assuming the drivers were installed correctly). The only other thing off the top of my head to have you test is the laptop against another display.

    Have you tried having the HDMI cable hooked up then rebooting. It should auto detect when you plug it in while it on, but worth a shot.

    All the drivers were installed properly, downloaded through the manufactures website both the Intel and Nvidia's. I will have to test in on another display before i go to the reseller, is there a remote chance that the hdmi port is in sleep mode and needs to be awaken to work properly from that moment on? It might sound absurd but strange things happen often when you're dealing with hardware.

    That was one of my multiple tries to see if I could get something out of it, didn't work, both plugged and unplugged.

    Not that I've ever heard of. USB devices, WLAN module, etc. can be suspended via power options, but not the video out ports.

    I would still try another cable. I've had cables that worked with other setups but one was just finicky. It's a fairly inexpensive prospect to rule out.
