Hello,
I'm having many issues with my brand new P650SE as seen on this post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...s-disappointed-with-sager-and-xoticpc.781711/
Sager has not replaced my screen yet, but I'm now having BSOD once or twice per day. It doesn't matter if the system is on load or not, it fails randomly.
Here is the dump:
crash dump file: C:\Windows\memory.dmpI belive that this system is not refurbished since I have bought it as brand new. Alongside with it, my HD is faulty and my screen has a lot of light bleedings. Pat J from XoticPC is dealing with the screen issue.
This was probably caused by the following module: hal.dll (hal!HalBugCheckSystem+0x661)
Bugcheck code: 0x9C (0x0, 0xFFFFD00117F22860, 0x0, 0x0)
Error: MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION
file path: C:\Windows\system32\hal.dll
product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
company: Microsoft Corporation
description: Hardware Abstraction Layer DLL
Bug check description: This bug check indicates that a fatal machine check exception has occurred.

It looks like a Windows OS error. If you don't have too much installed in there consider doing a clean install then also making sure you're up to date on Windows updates.
-
There is nothing installed in it. I have already done three fresh installs with Windows 10 and 8.1.
Also, it happens on Ubuntu too. -

I've talked with our service team, and they will be addressing this with you as well to come up with a solution.

Does your laptop have an i7-5700HQ? That CPU for some reason has this issue on a few different laptops. The BSOD happens with MS Office apps or Source engine games (e.g. Team Fortress 2).

MSI released a BIOS update to fix their laptops with this issue. I don't know if Clevo/Sager is working on doing the same, but in that first link (the NBR thread) user Prema made a custom BIOS fix. Check in there first if you can also use the update ("P6xxSE-A (GTX970M) Broadwell fix"), if that's the GPU/config you have.i_pk_pjers_i likes this. -
Yeah I found the post with the prema fix, just flashed that so I'll test it this week and see how it fares. (and yes I'm the 5700hq 970m version)

It'll fix it, the stock BIOS are all broken...

What a CF. I can't believe they let that ship. I mean I guess I understand it to a degree being the interaction is only with source engine games and office, but still.
-
It was an Intel problem...its just that the "food-chain" is too long for it to reach the end-user in time...
Simply cut it short and gave it to you guys directly.

Its working perfectly by the way. No BSOD's or any new issues.

Thanks to @Prema for providing a quick solution! Finally, the "official" BIOS fix is being tested successfully by us now so it should be ready for release in a couple of days. I would expect other companies will make it available and contact customers within the week

I was having these issues and used Prema's bios update. Have not had a single BSOD in ~2 weeks (since I flashed new BIOS), no loss in any type of functionality of the laptop, and no other problems crop up. I would suggest doing the Prema Mod fix now, and when the official update comes out, you can decided whether or not the extra effort is worth the trouble so have the 'official' fix.
