    Hi Everyone,

I'm choosing between those two laptops. I know that the 17 inch version will have a decrease on battery life but how bad is this drop?
I'm asking mainly to those who have those laptops, how long does your battery lasts on normal(non playing) usage? I'll use this laptop on college.
I have an old 17 inch Acer 7551G-6477 and it only lasts 30 minutes. Just saw on XoticPC that both are with the same prices for the special edition ones.

Either of those is going to have a better life than the 30 minutes of your Acer. The batteries in each of those are going to be the same size, and the components in the computers are the same pretty much. The 17 might get a little less because of the screen size though possibly. But they should be fairly similar I would think. We have them up on our site at about 2+ hours, but if you lower screen brightness and change some of the power settings on the computer you should be able to get higher than that.

@bernardogo notebookcheck review of the XMG P505 with 980M (so the P651SG) shows the following:

    Load (max brightness) 1h 36m
    WiFi surfing 3h 30m
Idle (no WiFi, min screen brightness) 4h 58m

As Pat said, the battery life of the only difference between the two chassis sizes is the slightly higher power draw of the 17.3" panel, howeverI think that the 4K 15.6" uses slightly more power than the 17.3" FHD. Either way, you won't see a real world difference!

Thanks for confirming those numbers. I was seeing reviews with higher life compared to what we have it rated at, even in HTWingnut's review, but some of the screen brightness levels were turned down a bit. So I think our numbers of 2+ are either for everything on and full brightness, or just being a bit conservative.
