I've had my p505 for little over a year now and I love it. But there are one annoyance I have yet to get over.
If I close my lid and it goes into suspend mode it still consumes a lot of power. And the unit actually gets hot to the touch.
My other laptop can sit in suspend mode for days without much drain at all.
I get this issue both under windows and linux.
And when running windows opening the lid of the computer does not always wake the computer. I have to close the lid again and open it and it might work. Otherwise I have to repeat. This is not an issue in linux however.

Do you notice the same power drain when putting the computer to sleep in Linux?

Huh... The heat you mentioned during it being asleep is also disconcerting. What version is your BIOS?
