Hello everybody!
I'm a little bit worried about the battery connector in my P670SE: when I open the machine to reset bios/nvram by unplugging the round battery under the keyboard, I usually disconnect the main battery too, and leave everything there for a few minutes. But when I reconnect the main battery, there's a little spark coming out within the white connector. Is this somehow normal? Could it damage the machine?
Also, when my battery is charging Windows 10 tells me how much time is left for a full charge, but if the battery is in use and therefore discharging, it is forever stuck on "Calculating...": faulty battery or Windows 10 bug?

When you say there is a sparkle, are you saying that it is like a constant spark, or do you just see it when you connected the battery in? Or could it possibly be just a little light reflecting off of a metal connector in there?
Did the battery level ever update to show a percent? Maybe clearing the EC might help with the battery issue?mirak likes this. -
Already tried clearing the EC: disconnected main and bios battery, then pressed the power button for ~20 seconds (is that correct?). But nothing changed.
Yes Windows 10 shows the percentage correctly. But remaining time is always "Calculating..." during discharge. While charging it's fine and shows remaining time for a full charge. Am I the only one with a P6xxSE and Windows 10 combo having this issue? -

If it is just a quick spark, it should be fine as it is just the connection being made. If it was sparking constantly, then it is a completely different issue.
Yeah, that is how you would want to clear your EC.
Have you tried just running the computer from 100% down to almost dead? It could just be still calculating and running it from full life to almost empty could help with that process. Try changing power modes in the control panel for advance power settings, to see if it comes up in battery saver mode as well as the full power mode.mirak likes this. -

You should be fine. It's not uncommon for minor electrical arcs to show when connecting power. Take a look at the connector on the board as well on the battery just to make sure you don't notice anything odd (something caught in either one, a bent pin, etc.).

I'm going to check the connectors tomorrow!
