Due to this forum, I am looking at Sager. I am not a gamer, I just need a bigger display and I need more computing power (Office, web and various other programs are open all the time and I am impatient!). I currently have an old Sony VGN-FS550. I love the display, but it is obviously sucking wind in the performance department! The 5793 looks like overkill for me. I want either the T8100 or T8300 and a great display and I will probably hook up an additional 20" display. I sent a Dell 1720 back after 4 days becuase the display was awful - dull and shadows. Seems the 6790 is priced right for my needs even though it seems to fall short for you gaming types from a graphics card standpoint. I am also favoring a Sony AR b/c of the display, but I really don't like the touchpad location and mouse buttons. The Sager's are more "traditional" layouts.
Thanks.

enjoy Sager P6790 Review -
Thanks! I should have googled it - I had not looked over there yet. I like the clean looks of the Sager line (well, those w/o orange trim!) and I am finding it very hard to find many good choices for 17" lappys - or a quality notbook at all for that matter. Looks like you are still searching too!
