Hello , i recently got the laptop and i love it. However, when i shut the laptop down it powers all usb off and windows shuts down however, the laptop is still running ( keyboard backlight still on , fans still running). I tried reverting BIOS to default settings but still i get this issue. Anyone know any fix?

disable fast boot in control panel / power options / advanced power options in the left pane

what is probably happening is, when you are shutting down, Windows is trying to save some of the files running for a faster startup next time, but it failing to do so causing it to not fully turn off.

also, you can run this command in an elevated command prompt to free up the space of the hiberfile.sys since we won't be using this feature

powercfg -h off then hit ENTEr

This is probably it. Fast Boot has been known to occasionally cause boot up and shut down issues (minor ones, but annoyances all the same).

EDIT: Late to the draw. :p Glad it worked!

I've always disabled it the first thing after installing Windows. When I shutdown my laptop, I want a full shutdown so the next startup will be a fresh new start not some hybrid startup. SSDs boot so fast anyway that make this fast startup have no real benefit other than the horribly long shutdown it takes to save the current state, that is IF it ever works.
