Hi, this is my first post here : )

I'm trying to update my hasee branded P751dm's thunderbolt 3 firmware. I have done research and try everything around. No luck. The firmware won't update because it is a wrong brand, etc.

I have used prema's vbios and other bios mod from chinese forum. Just wondering, does it matter if I flash a different bios?

Another question is not relevant but I'm just curious. Can we modify BCLK with a mod bios? Thanks for help<

Thunderbolt firmware is separate from the BIOS so it wont matter which BIOS you have on the system.

Base clock can't be modified within the original BIOS. Can't speak for a modded one, though.

I got a 970m if it is what you ask. TB3 controler is Alpine ridge.
I tried to connect a Akitio Node without having my pc to recongize it.

I hope I can find one to oc BCLK as I have a 6700 de-lidded which has plenty of heat room ( 62-64 C fully loaded )

Have you considered putting a 1060 standard MXM shape card instead of the external card which has issues with latency and bandwidth.

That sounds an option. But will 1060 be compatible? how about drivers?

I got the Bios mod from baidu tieba. Haven't questioned where it came from originally.

I would like to share something I discovered yesterday. I haven't properly furmark my 970m since a while. I ran it several times, laptop got black screen in less than 3 minutes. I then re-paste liquid metal on 970m, it ran a few degrees cooler but still crash.

After examining it with more care, I discover that the power supply of this 970m has not more than 3 phases. Part of the supply circuit / maybe MOS is even not covered by thermal pad. No doubt if furmark raises it to around 40 watts it crashes with ease. I have to lower my vram to 2000mhz to stabilize it. then it can goes to 5 mins where I stop.
