    I bought my P770DM-G with Windows 7.

I'd like to now install Windows 10 on it into a Samsung 950 Pro M.2 nvme drive.

WIndows progresses to the stage where you select what drive to install it to and nothing is there. This is similar to the situation I faced in Windows 7. I thought these drivers were included in Win 10?

Any suggestions? What BIOS settings should I try? DO I need to provide an nvme driver at install? Any help with links for the above drive?

    Thanks in advance

For anyone stumbling on this, the issue was the previous Windows 7 installation on this nvme drive was placed on an MBR partition.

Win 10, to use nvme drivers, appears to require UEFI. UEFI requires a GPT partition. Converting the drive to GPT allowed the install (At the expense of all data on the drive).

Seems like Win 10 should check if it actually CAN update before it starts attempting to update and not allowing the user to return to a working state.

Yeah you wont be the first or last to get the GPT trip up. It's very annoying.

It should have been able to revert back to windows 7 though if it wont install.

Right, it is supposed to roll back during upgrade installs after a certain point, but it is inconvenient. The custom install option at least stops you at the disk selection menu and tells you why.

It should have been able to, I agree. It wasn't. It in essence made the PC completely inoperable. Unable to even get into the standard Windows "boot loop". I had to grab install media and boot from there and then complete a clean install to move forward at all. (AFTER using diskpart to convert the disk to GPT)

Moral of the story, convert, to a GPT disk BEFORE doing an in place upgrade from 7 to 10 on an MBR NVME disk or you will in short order lose your PC's use.

I'll keep that in mind in case someone plans the same move. Thanks for sharing.
