What is the thickest hard drive we can put in one of the 2.5 inch SATA bays? Can we put a 15mm drive into one of the bays?

Up to a 9.5mm height drive. I was hoping for something slightly larger. Oh well. 2.5 inch drives won't get much larger in capacity unless you go all Solid State. I can't afford that right now. :(

Did any of you see that Seagate has created a 60TB Solid State drive? OUCH to the pocketbook.

What's the largest 9.5mm conventional rotating HDD nowadays? Is it still the 2TB? Are you going to do a small SSD and then another larger drive for storage?

Yep. Anything above is 15mm atm.

Depend on your laptop case . If you remove the caddy bay and some other hindrances , perhaps you can fit it in :) .15mm is twice the size of a ssd , use a ruler or sth and you can figure it out on your own
I personally don't need a caddy bay , I use foam instead ...but I can't say the same to you

The largest 9.5mm drive is 2TB. We are near the maximum we can possibly have in density of that form factor. SSD have been shown by Seagate and Samsung to be over 15TB in size.

Most notebooks, even desktop replacements, don't have optical drives. As such, caddies are not an option.

That's not possible with most Clevo notebooks. However, the P6XX line might be able to accommodate a thicker drive. You would simply lose access to the second SATA slot in the process.
