    P775DM3 GPU Question

    Hi, and thank you for any help possible.

    I just grabbed a P775DM3 without anything installed and was looking at grabbing a 1080 for it. My buddy has a 1080 from an MSI GT83VR 6RF that looks like it'd fit but not terribly sure. So my question is would it work in the P775DM3? I don't have the machine yet, currently trying to get all the parts together for when it does arrive.

    Sell the MSI one and buy the Clevo variant, this is the right thing to do.

    Yeah had a feeling that was gonna be the case, I've got it in watching so hopefully the bid doesn't get terribly high. I see there's a mod to allow RTX cards would I be better off going for a 2060/ 2070?

    RTX with some modifications in bios maybe heatsink will be great.

    Time to do some digging through the forums then, do you per chance know if the P775DM3 can run off the igpu or does it need a dedicated card to display?

    Might have to find a cheap 1060 to use to do the bios mods, unless it supports the 980m?

    1060 is 100% working, but the 980m I think the heatsink will not fit. You can flash the BIOS with a programmer or by a technician so you don't need to buy a card for that.

    Like a SPI reprogrammer? If so I'm pretty sure I still have the one from flashing the vBios for my M18x
