So my 1080 gpu died, my eurocom lappy is out of warranty by a month so rip.

From what I have read everywhere this laptop doesnt work without MXM gpu (integrated is not connected).

I would like to give this laptop a second life and was looking on amazon for a cheap MXM gpu, does anyone know if this would work:

    https://www.amazon.ca/Precision-Wor...BS/ref=sr_1_32?ie=UTF8&qid=1533580966&sr=8-32

Or else what would be the cheapest replacement to have a "functionning" laptop?

    Thanks.

A Clevo 1060 would be your least expensive option.

Can't guarantee Quadro compatibility, but a 1060 - like yrekabakery mentioned - would be a more cost efficient option. It's also better for gaming and general purpose, just try to source a Clevo card, rather than a Dell (MSI may also work).

Nothing but Clevo 10 series cards will work due to heatsink compatibility.

You could probably jank in a 3000M, GTX 660M, GTX 760M into the system to keep it alive and do basic stuff,

otherwise a GTX 1060 is the best "bang for the buck"

No, the core position is different, you won't be able to do it.

Wouldn't he be able to just not screw to tight to not break the GPU?

I mean the goal is to make it alteast a bootable machine, really if anything low end can work it would be great. the 1060 is not really cheap :(

    I have a spare 1060 or 1070 :)

    - 1060 from the very same machine, P775DM3
    - or 1070 from 751TM1

I would like to keep one, PM me if you are interested, I think I offer both cards cheaper than anyone :)

    Cheers

It won't screw in at all or make proper contact with the core.
