I have recently purchased a P775TM1 (i7 8700K, RTX2070), and have a few questions regarding overclocking the 2070(good results?) and what RAM OC timings to use for boosting past 2666mhz?

I’ve had a browse across here so far but I’m pretty new to clevo platform/BIOS, thanks in advance!

So you'll want to use ctrl + f in msi afterburner to get the clock curve up to play with the 2070 properly, the RAM is going to vary by the modules you have and how they clock. I think the first thing you would want to see is if it clocks higher say 2800Mhz because that's going to help performance.

On RAM tbh is not only mhz that counts but also timings, so keep in mind that 2666 mhz at cl 15 is the same with 2800 at cl 16, 2933 at cl17 and so fourth. For a 8700k, 2666mhz is more than enough, I would be more focused to lower timings.

Bandwith matters and the 8th gen does see decent gains up to 3000Mhz.

Oh ok, thx for the heads up. Is this also true for the 9th gen?

Yes, a little more so for the 8 core models.

No problem, there are a few places out there that have done some memory scaling reviews. With my 9th gen 3000mhz 14-14-14 does pretty well so once you do get to that point timings do make a bigger difference.
