So, just ordered a Gskill 3200 kit for my laptop (I know, max supported by spec is 3000, but someone told me they would work here). Installed, booted to windows fine. Ok, RAM works. Go into the bios, set the XMP profile. No go. Just stuck in the boot loop where your screen doesnt come on. Spent the next hour trying to manually set timings, lower the speed to 3000, but nothing. No matter what I do, I get stuck in a boot loop. I noticed the same behavior when trying to set an undervolt on the CPU in the bios or manually setting the clocks higher. Is this bios in these things really THAT bad that nothing performance oriented will work, or am I just doing it wrong? So far with the memory I have tried matching base clock speeds, XMP profile, high latency 3000mhz, and both 1.2v and 1.35v, nothing would boot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

XMP1 (which is the 3200 rating)
Custom with ref clock of 100 at 15x, both with set latency for the chips and high latency to match the non xmp values, both 1.2v and 1.35v
Custom with ref clock of 100 at 15x with the Plus One setting (to make 3200), both latency sets as above
2666 settings, on non XMP timings

I'm really doubting this stock bios.

What happens if you pair one old stick and one new stick?

I haven't tried that, but I imagine it would boot just fine like that as the new ram is running at the same speeds the old ram was.

Don't work down, work up from there. Use the timings of the lower speed kits of the same series as a guide.

The default bios actually worked better for memory compatibility than Prema by the way ;)

The problem is, I cant get it to boot at 3000mhz at the timings of the default memory, nor the prescribed memory of the kit itself. Its seems like any change I make in the bios simply wont boot.

The Mod runs the BCLK at 100Mhz instead of 99.5. If your RAM is running at it's limits just set it to BCLK profile 1 instead 0, which runs it at stock BIOS 99.5Mhz. ;)

I personally couldn't get 3200Mhz sticks to boot at all on stock P870KM1 BIOS. Booted right up on the Mod even with the BCLK at 100Mhz...

So given your experience with the stock bios, should I just return these sticks and get 3000mhz ones?

    Hi everyone :)

Recently I have a Hyperbook X77VR3 laptop (Clevo P775TM1-G). Unfortunately, the BIOS settings are terribly poor compared to a desktop computer.

I would like to ask @Prema
Is it possible to modify the BIOS on this model?

XTU has a few more options in it for tweaking but even with the Prema bios you wont get a enthusiast desktop board worth of options.

Thank you for the quick reply :)
But I use the linux system, so I need a BIOS from Prema
