    P8150: S/PDIF output jack has a red light that remains on

    Doesn't it usually means something is plugged into it? Or does the THX studio's surround setting have something to do with this?

    on mine P170HM there is also always red light on output jack , i think it's normal. but i don't know what is a reason for that :)

    Yeah I was just checking this was normal. On macbooks a light inside on of the audio input/output jacks meant something was plugged into it.

    I think it means that it is working since S/PDIF use fiber optic connections. If you ever look at the end of a Toslink cable when one side is plugged into a source, there is a red light coming from it.

    It's both a digital SPDIF jack an an optical one. :)

    Then how do you see the light when something is plugged in? :D
