I know this issue has been discussed before but I am interested in possibly keeping my order price under 2k if I could.

I plan on doing a good amount of gaming, but not really video editing or any other CPU intensive stuff. If not for gaming I could easily get by purchasing a good business class notebook for word processing/internet surfing, but alas I love me some games.

Since the 8660 comes with the 9800M GT, will it be the bottleneck no matter what CPU I choose in this case?

Assuming the video card is the bottleneck and I dont plan on doing CPU intensive tasks beyond gaming very often I wouldn't benefit much in the future from going with the P9500 more than likely, correct?

I appreciate your thoughts on the issue.

CPU makes very very little difference in games if any at all. video card will definitely be the bottle neck before your cpu is

So you think I'll be fine with the 8400 or 8600 and shouldnt worry about it. My current rid has an AMD Hammer processor at 2.21ghz I cant remember the exact CPU name but I'm sure I'll be happy with any of the processors I just want to be sure i'm not handicapping myself in anyway for the future.

i went for the P8400 on my laptop, .2 ghz more for the p8600 is not worth the $50 to me since I don't do any sort of mathematical equations or encoding on my computer
