Ok here's hoping you guys can help me out - bought this beast of a unit back in 2016 and have had absolutely no problems with it until 3 days ago - I accidentally knocked liquid over the case and proceeded to furiously dismantle the case to prevent it from seeping any further in. Fortunately I was able to stop the liquid before it got anywhere vulnerable, but it seems in my haste to tear the unit down I've damaged the GPU:

As you can see, doesn't look good - after pulling it apart again I noticed that a tiny part of the plastic divider in the MXM slot had broken off and had bent some of the pins - after some very careful manipulation with the tip of a scalpel the offending shard of plastic was removed and the pins straightened.

However the problem is still persisting - I've tried reseating the card, I've updated the drivers, then done a clean DDU install of the ones that came with the machine - neither has any effect and I'm still getting this:

I'm assuming at this point I've somehow fried the card or damaged the MXM slot beyond repair - I don't have any other cards or laptops to use to rule one or the other out - what are my options? I don't see the green dots in the bios but not sure if that's expected?

I think I specified the GTX 980 desktop on the build sheet, but from what I read this is custom to Clevo and therefore difficult to replace directly? Anything else that's a straight swap with the same heatsink? Any cheap options I could use to test the MXM slot without breaking the bank?

Try to heat up the card, sometimes applying heat fixing the problem.

Have you inspected the card for physical damage?

I extracted and reinstalled it with the heatsink still installed so not yet, the edge that installs into the MXM slot looks to be in good condition.

It would more be the little passives on it I would look closely at for ripped pads.

Looks like we might have a winner - pad on the back of the card looks like something has broken off:

So back to the original questions I suppose, what are my options for replacement?

A good shop could replace that component, all the chips should have a similar layout (though are flipped if you look at the pin 1 markings).
