    Hello again Note Bookers,

I've been searching for users who own the P870DM with NVME and Windows 7, but only came across Phoenix's experiences - where he mentioned slow boot times.

I'm planning on getting the Samsung 950 Pro.

For those who have the P870DM + NVME + Windows 7, what are your experiences? I already know how to create the Windows USB.

    Note: I don't like Windows 8/10.

30+ secs boot time is in the range of HDDs man. Windows 7 performance with NVMe is horrible. Get a non NVMe m.2 SSD if you hate 10 like the SanDisk X400 or Samsung 850 EVO

I did a lot of researching and decided to give NVME a try... Surprisingly, all went well after my first attempt at installing Windows 7 to the NVMe drive. Initial research paid off :)

    1) Purchased 950 PRO last week.
    2) Added native USB3 support to Windows Image
    3) Added 950 PRO 64-bit drivers to image
    4) Installed Windows 7 SP1
    5) Boom! Works!

Below are my BIOS settings surrounding BIOS/UEFI/CSM on Premamod:

    - Boot > OS Select > OS Select = [Others]
    - Boot > OS Select > UEFI Boot = [Enabled]
    - Boot > OS Select > Launch CSM = [Enabled]

    - Advanced > CSM Configuration > CSM Support = [Enabled]
    - Advanced > CSM Configuration > Boot option filter = [UEFI and Legacy]
    - Advanced > CSM Configuration > Network = [UEFI]
    - Advanced > CSM Configuration > Storage = [UEFI]
    - Advanced > CSM Configuration > Video = [Legacy]
    - Advanced > CSM Configuration > Other PCI devices = [UEFI]

@Phoenix , my boot time didn't really change much with or without NVME. Boot time is longer by about 3 seconds with NVME (which is not much for me). I have a total of 4 SSDs on this machine. All 4 SSDs are GPT (no MBRs). So Windows boot time is not an issue for me.

While Windows 7 will boot and function just fine, I don't know why... but I don't see my NVME SSD in Offboard NVMe Controller Configuration in the BIOS. Anyone know how to get my NVME to show up in there?

    Added some benchmarks :)

Nice instructions. Thanks for posting them.

So, do you have @Prema BIOS? I am not sure (cannot remember) if all of those settings are accessible with a stock Clevo BIOS, but I think they may not be.

not in that detail. In the stock BIOS you can only enable or disable UEFI.

Maybe @Meaker@Sager can confirm if that has changed in the new updated stock BIOS on the P870DM3/P775DM3 as I know they now have access to voltage, CPU multipliers, power limits, very nice for a stock BIOS. At least those laptops are usable without the Prema BIOS unlike the P870DM which was very restricted with the stock BIOS.
