Hi! I have the P870DM-G which uses the same power supply and cable / connector that used my previous model, that thing with time, not much, gets loose and is very easy for the power supply to get disconnected completely, and the way is designed now, getting a new cable won't solve it since is the connector that is on the motherboard that gets "wider". I've seen some ingenious things with Velcro to keep the in place.
Anyone with this machine had already problems with the power cable coming loose? Nothing like the magnetic cable of the Macs notebooks![]()

I know this doesn't answer your question, but it might be on usage or how the PSU is connected/disconnected.
I have an x7200 which is 4 or 5 years old. I have two PSUs (one for home and one at work), and both of those adapters fit as snug as the day I purchased them. However, I should say the laptop usually perches on the side of my desk and is not really mobile. Rarely is this laptop on my lap in a chair or in any position where it is moving around. Over these years, I've maybe used it 50x or so on a lunch tray while sitting in a recliner.
The other thing is I always make sure to connect/disconnect the PSU from the lappy by pulling straight back (90 degrees from the back).
Hopefully these things may help prolong the lifetime of your connections, but my guess is YMMV.
Again, sorry to not answer your question, but I wanted to share my real-life experience.Last edited: Mar 22, 2016 -

If I recall correctly, there is a small plastic ring/collar on the DC jack (connector inside the PC) that helps to secure the connection. You might want to check whether piece is broken or missing (maybe by shining a light on the inside).
I'm not sure of any workarounds, but if that ring is broken, it might be possible to repair or replace it, which (hopefully) would help resolve the issue with your power cable slipping out easily.victorwol likes this. -

I'll take a look. Thanks, this is on a 3 years old machine by the way, the last Clevo with 6 cores, can't remember the model, the cable just falls if I do not hold it in place with something.
