    Hi guys,

I was wondering If its possible to use the sli heatsink as additional cpu cooler as my device ist single gpu only.
Has someone already carried out something Like this and can give me some advice?
My plan is to attach additional heatpipes with thermal glue onto the already existing ones or next to them like shown in the added photo, but the main issue will be the permanent link between gpu and cpu heatsink what makes it imossible to dismantle gpu and/or cpu heatsink for maintenance purpose e.g. without breaking off the glued connection.

Any other ideas how to improve cpu cooling by utilizing the untapped cooling potential of the sli heatsink?

You should probably look into the second CPU fan mod for the p870 here on the forums

Moving to the tm heatsink with the right back plate would be cleaner and require no soldering.

Couldn't find any mod adding a 2nd cpu fan, maybe you can link it here.

    General question:
Is the 2nd GPU fan always running or are further steps necessary when only master gpu is installed?

    Working, wont be linking anything.

You can google it though as it will take you to the same place.

I don't think the fan header is on the KM board but getting the larger cpu heatsink would help regardless.
