    Hello again people!

It seems that i can't stop having PC issues as of late.

Anyway, I was having a minor issue with the keyboard's right region back-lighting, which would only turn blue or would just turn off if I changed the colour. I got in touch with John from Obsidian PC to send me a new US-layout KB to replace my UK one.

I got it this morning, installed it, and was happy to see that the back-lighting got fixed! Then I tried to use it.....

None of the letters would work. Numbers, the FN keys, the Num keys and the symbol keys were fine, just the letters. Reinstalled it a couple of times to no avail, thought it might be faulty.

Reinstalled my old one, and the same issue happens there too now!

I've been at this for 4 hours, rebooting into safe mode, uninstalling KB drivers, system restore. Nothing changed. I don't know what I've done wrong, exactly.

I've sent a message to John for help and to Obsidian Support as well since he might be busy.

In the mean time, does anyone have any ideas? I'd be thankful for your help.

Maybe try and clean your keyboard port with isopropylalcohol and see how that goes. The thin cable is for RGB the wider one is for the keyboard itself.

if u clean with iso70%, i ll say even with anything else, dont forget to disconnect the battery before doing anything, and even pushing the power button.
Maybe in your case, removing the battery and even the cmos battery ( i dont remember if 1mn is enaught) can solve the issue. Or maybe you forgot to simply close the trap keyboard cable, the black stuff who keep stuck the connector to each pins.

Wait, removing the battery? What would that do?

Yeah pushing the powerbutton for 10seconds is a good idea, it takes all electricity out of the notebook. Even if you remove you battery and PSU there is still electricity flowing through until you press the powerbutton which will push it out.

he just wants to make sure you don't short anything when cleaning the port.

I figured it out. The issue was in the connector on the right (the upper one if you're looking at the keyboard straight ahead). The other connection is inserted under the black connector, whereas this one is inserted between the cream-coloured connector and the black head.

    It's all good now! Thanks y'all! ;)
