Anyone have any information on how well the Intel Montevina P9500 overclocks?
-
I dont think its possible to overclock the montevina platform yet. Unless you know the PLL's and a program that supports it. The multipliers are locked so raising the FSB is the only way.
geez you just got it and you wanna blow it up already...

Lol, why would you want to overclock such a powerful processor anyway? To get a cheaper T9600?
-
Who cares about OC i hope RMClock works for the Montevina chipset
-
Dont hold your breath for a new RMclock with montevina support either. I will email RightMark and give them a nudge -
I don't have a notebook yet with that particular CPU, I was just curious if any sort of in OS programs would allow it to OC (Adjust FSB on the fly). Why would I want to OC the CPU? Why not?
I'm coming from a long time frame of using desktops only as my main rig (E8400 @ 4.2Ghz), when I found out the 9262 couldn't overclock cpu wise at all I was disappointed. Was just curious if any support would happen for the Montevina. -

I would like to overclock IBM's roadrunner, anybody know how?
-
you would need 6912 pins for the amd and 12960 for the cell lol? That's a lot of pins... (Just kidding, don't even know if these processors have the pin mod)

Ya i really hope rm clock works, because that is the one thing that helps me get 1 - 2 more hours of battery life.

Hopefully the silent mode will at least meet you half way on energy conservation until something that works is made.
