I installed GPU-Z today, the latest version. Thing is when I started GPU-z it gave me a warning which i dont remember (dumb), but after that everything was fine, my 7970m wasnt being detected so i started a game and then i could see the 7970m in gpu-z. I closed GPU-z, and after 5 minutes of gameplay my pc freezes. ctrl+alt+del didnt work, so i restarted the pc by holding down the start button. After that,I tried GPU-z again, but the same thing happened, it froze after 5 minutes. The third time i tried GPU-Z, the logo showed up, but it wouldnt start. After 10 minutes, I restarted the pc.

So, the question is pretty simple, why GPU-Z doesnt work? Anyone has tried the 0.6.7 version with a 7970m? I have read a lot of posts and stuff, but i couldnt find a solution, maybe i missed something.
    I have a Clevo P150EM, i7-3720qm, 7970m (stock clocks), 8gb ram, 750gb HDD.

Sorry for my english and thanks.

    Have you tried re-downloading it?

Were you running the bare EXE or did you have it installed?

I installed it, havent tried re-downloading, but i dont wanna mess with this stuff. Funny and weird thing is that i have done some 3dmark11 tests and my score went down by 40 points. I used to get 6540-6555, now i get between 6500-6510. Maybe its related to gpu-z, or maybe im just going nuts.

40 points is within normal run variation.

I had the exact same problem today and actually found this thread using Google. Telling people to search is almost never helpful and often just ends up polluting search results with empty noise.

It seems to be a CPU-Z/Enduro bug that isn't (can't be?) fixed. The workaround is simply to run a program that's set to use the 7970m before starting CPU-Z. I used VLC.

Well I had the issue and went onto the GPU-Z forums and there were a few threads talking about trying to sort the issue. I haven't got time to link people who cannot even use common sense. "Hey look my Suzuki engine just died, let's post about the problem on the Honda site to see if they can fix it...."

You had the issue? Did you fix it? What did you do about it?
I have read a lot of forums but i couldnt find anything regarding the 7970m and GPU-Z. Maybe i missed something, like i said in the first post.
You know, instead of making a car joke or whatever it is, you could add a link or more information about this issue, if its not a problem. It will be more useful :)

But you still had the time to post in this thread? Perhaps you should've spent your precious time better and not posted anything at all. I suggest taking up yachting.

Start another program that uses the 7970m before running GPU-Z.

I think you enabled a sensor which makes the laptop unstable. Re install and don't enable the sensor. Think its called EC Compal sensor.

Now this is very weird, seems that now i cant get past the P6510 score, im getting 6497 most of the time, and i noticed that my graphic score went down. Is there any chance that GPU-Z messed up something in the 7970m? Im not getting the same perfomance than before, maybe a driver reinstall will fix it?

    Before; Result not found

GPU-Z only monitors, it has no functions in it to directly impact the card. 6100 is normal for stock speeds.

well, after searching a lot, i dont know why my graphics score went down, it bothers me thou :/ My brother has the same laptop, same driver, and he is getting higher score. I deleted gpu-z, even deleted the registry file, but it didnt change anything :( Dont know what to do now, maybe ill install 13.2 beta4 and see if my score goes up. I know that im exaggerating by some points, but i wanna know why it went down.

Other thing that i noticed is that DirectCompute wasnt enabled in gpu-z, while other people with 7970m have it enabled. mhmm
