    Hello all,

Recently my laptop (a Eurocom D470K Python) crashed (for whatever reason) and it no longer sensed the hard drive. I sent it to a friend (licenced technician) who found it to be a bad hard drive cable. He replaced the cable (2 days after warranty expired but warranty still accepted, fortunately) and proceeded to reinstall windows. I got it back and all worked well - at first.

Shortly after turning on the laptop and using it, the screen turned blue and said:
    "*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity check / Memory Parity Error
*** The system has halted ***"

I then shut off the computer and turned it back on. During POST is said:
    "ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI Network Controller on Motherboard
    Bus:00, Device:08, Function:00
Press <F1> to resume, <F2> to Setup"

Then, while shifting the laptop on the table, it cleared the screen of POST and starting writing:
"PCI Parity Error on Bus/Device/Function 0000h
"PCI Parity Error on Bus/Device/Function 0028h
"PCI Parity Error on Bus/Device/Function 0030h
"PCI Parity Error on Bus/Device/Function 0040h
"PCI Parity Error on Bus/Device/Function 0060h
"PCI Parity Error on Bus/Device/Function 0070h
"PCI Parity Error on Bus/Device/Function 0071h"

The screen would then just keep flashing and displaying these numbers or any combination of them. However, if I tilt the laptop a certain way, I've noticed that it will clear this text and continue with POST, then continue with startup.

Does anyone have a clue as to what's happening? My friend (the technician) thought it might be a bad video driver and therefor gave me some new video drivers to install, however that doesn't fix it.

Its more than likely not a driver if it goes away with a tilt. It's more than likely a loose card or cable on the motherboard. If the warranty is gone, I would suggest getting your friend (or yourself if your comfortable doing it) to open it up and check all the connections to ensure that they are firmly seated.

    Hope that helps man.
