EDIT: I have tried to change the title to this thread to "NP9262 - XR5 Wireless Problems - Bad Card?" because I have realized that it wasn't PCMW's fault at all. If an admin could just detete this thread, or change its name, to a less "reseller bashing" title, I would appreciate it.
PCMW has gone beyond my expectations to make this a solid purchase. /EDIT
Well I just now figured out why I have been having so many problems, that seem to be coming from my wireless card.
What I found under close inspection is that the gigabyte mini WLAN card, may have been incorrectly wired to begin with. Inform me if I am wrong about this. There are 3 wires, labeled 1, 2, and 3. there are also 3 connections on the card, also labeled 1, 2 and 3. Now maybe these labels do not correspond, but the 1 wire, is connected to the 2 spot, the 2 wire is on the 1 spot, and the 3 wire was barely connected to the 3 spot. The 3 wire had actually slid out of its end connector, and is now just a bunch of silver strands not connected to anything.
Edit: I guess the 2 and 1 wires can go on either, because they are just antenna wires. As long as the 3 wire is on the 3 spot, which it was. So it looks like it was just a bad wire, which I imagine was created and sent out by either clevo, or sager.
So I wrote PCMW about this, And they were very apologetic about the situation. For not having support, or sales hours that include weekends, they sure seem to be there anyway. I got an email this morning, a Saturday.
They are offering to overnight me the wires and a new card, possibly an Intel 4965 card, and they will ship it DHL to my address in Mexico.
I want to say that, even though I got a faulty peice of hardware, my XR5 rocks. The wireless card even seems to do everything fine, as long as you don't try and share files with other computers in your network.
I want to know is anyone with a gigabyte wireless N card, or an intel N card, is getting close to 300mbs under connection status? I was getting 270 on the N router at work with my gigabyte card.
Also, I noticed yesterday that my gigabit LAN connection, was only connecting at my work, at 100mb. While my work desktop, connecting to the same router, gets the Full gigabit. Anyone have ideas?

okay, dude, cos i'm a babe, pls don't shoot me down, but have you tried moving your laptop about to an area where you get maximum signal strength? then tried to see what your connection is like?
i know it sounds silly, but i thought Macafee screwed up my connection causing it to be erratic, did all sorts of tweaks and checks and would have even uninstalled it.. until i checked my connection signal strength, which at good should have been fine, but wen i moved my laptop about so it went to excellent, everything worked superbly.. and now i have no problems, i have 3 PCs on my network, my desktop, my laptop and my bro's pc, the toher two worked fine, and now that the signal strength ins in an excellent rate, i've had no problems
can you believe it?
well i doubt your problem is as little as mine, but it was worth a shot. Btw, on my older TOSHIBA laptop, everything worked fine if the signal was average and above, but i don't remember what network card it had, it was a Satellite Toshiba i think 200 series, bought last September. may have been using a different wireless card... maybe that's all you needed to do. Because my Toshiba didn't have this issue, i was shocked when that made a difference.
