    Hi guys,

I'm here for not the first but it's my first time writing.

To make a short story : I wanna use CamStudio and I need to record audio from speakers BUT since I have (****ty) vista, the program cannot use this feature. I tried everything that I found that would be simple, i.e. updated audio drivers. The problem still remains because I can't go and activate Sound Mix in my recording options (using right click and show disable devices) because it simply does not appear. Some other people have had this problem and here's the solution (only one for now) that I found : update my motherboard drivers using XP drivers instead of vista ones. (took this solution there http://www.vistax64.com/vista-hardware-devices/15847-sigmatel-high-definition-audio-codec.html last post)

So, after checking notebookreview and learned that my PM965 is the same as a GM965, I followed this http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-009244.htm#1
to dload this http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...&OSFullName=Windows* XP Home Edition&lang=eng .

Now I must say I'm afraid to try it... I don't wanna screw my laptop doing it and I'd like some expert in comps to help me out. Is it ok to do it? Is there any other solution? I'm not a dumb so you can use the real terms.

    Thx.
