    Only Alienware machines have HDMI in as far as I know.

    Also the new Alienware machines use a different hdmi port, so there is one port for hdmi input and one for hdmi output.

    If you read one of the last posts in the owners thread of the x8100, a guy said they wont be bring the hdmi in back. Kinda sucks. :/

    Nope, none of the current lineup of sandy bridge machines support HDMI input. You could still use a USB tv tuner card with input though.

    He's talking about hooking up a PS3 via the built-in HDMI port to play it using the notebook screen, which is impossible on these machines because they don't have an input.

    Really, how come? I can do that on my pc no problem, same with Xbox. That quite shocking actually.

    i think you misunderstood cheesy, he wants to plug one end of the hdmi into hi ps3 and the other into his laptop, and he wants to be able to use his laptop as the monitor for the ps3.
