    Pardon my ignorance, but where is the 2nd HDD bay on an NP8278-S / P170SMA?

    I just bought a new NP8278-S. Can't be happier with the system.

    I have all the drivers loaded, and am ready to install my second HDD disk so that I can have RAID-1. My old computer was a 9280 with 3 HDD drives. Two on RAID-1 and one as an extra storage.

    On my NP8278-S, I still want to keep my blue-ray caddy plus two HDD disks in RAID-1.

    The booklet, page 21, models E & F, say that the secondary HDD bay (6) is where the blue ray caddy is. I popped open the secondary HDD bay (blue ray caddy), but can not see where a second HDD would go.

    I know I'm missing something. Please help!

    You need to remove the optical drive from the laptop's chassis entirely. Second HDD bay is underneath it.

    Yep undo the screw between the optical drive and the primary drive and pull the optical drive out.
