I have a M570u and and my performance constantly collapses, when playing games. I have monitored nearly every aspect of my laptop, but have found no clue why it seem to be downclocked. My cpu and gpu heat is fine. I've monitored even their frequency (using "Notebook Hardware Control","gpu-z" and "Riva Tuner"), but they didn't change even though the game performance was going down.

My question would be, what else could be responsible for this  ? I have totally no idea. It usally happens, when i played a bit and it really seems to be some heat issue, but there shouldn't simply be one.

If you need me to aquire more data, tell me (and the programs i should use).

    Here are my stats:
    M570U
. nVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX 512MB PCIexpress
    . Core2Duo T7200 / 2,0GHz 4MB/667 MHz
    . 2048 MB (2x1024) SO-DIMM DDR2 667MHz

    Thanks in advance. :)

Welcome to the NBR forums. :)

what program are you using to monitor the CPU/GPU temps?

RivaTuner is the best while you are playing in-game... since it will tell you the temps on-screen.

what is the max temp that you get for either CPU/GPU?

    Thanks for the welcome.
Like i said, i used "RivaTuner" and "Notebook Hardware Control" to monitor gpu/cpu temperature. Now i also downloaded "Core Temp" to monitor my cpu temperature. I use the max-fan-speed option, everytime i'm playing.

    Here some values:
    idle:
    cpu: 45°
    gpu: 60°
    heavy load:
    cpu: 65°
    gpu: 90°

    there's your reason there.

GPU danger temp is around 90-95C.

when was the last you opened your system and:
    - cleaned out the vents and fans from dust clogs (using compressed air and Q-tips)
    - re-applied thermal compound for your GPU and even CPU (once a year is needed)

Hey, thanks. Yeah you were right. I cleaned the vents and everything was fine. At least, the games i'm playing recently aren't affected by any performance breakdowns.
