Hi all,
you know that effect, when you look at something bright and then you can still see the object's outline when you look away? Well, my LCD is doing that...a lot.
I've recently been told by someone on here that these things are called phosphenes, so now I can actually call it something and hopefully you'll get what I'm talking about.
I've also been told, that this can occur on 95% gamut screens that were not calibrated properly. The thing is that I have the regular glossy screen.
I find this effect to be very noticeable and distracting in games, does anyone know what the causes or possible solutions to this are? Maybe it has to do with a slow response time or maybe it's normal and I've just never noticed it...really not sure.
I made a short video to try and capture the effect.

I was just checking again whether it's not the GPU with an external monitor hooked up and noticed another interesting thing. Only the right half of the screen is effected! What the hell?
I mean this sure looks like RMA material to me, they even sent the screen scratched as I mentioned in another post.... but I'd have to pay shipping to Canada and only have until the 10th of September to get this thing back.
Looks like if I wanna get rid of this issue I'll have to order a new damn LCD panel and install myself in Europe.
Does noone really recognize this problem? No way of fixing it? -
You mean ghosting? There was a problem with ghosting with red colors on the 95% gamut screens a while back. You should get it replaced.

Ah thanks, is that what the problem I recorded in the video is? Could someone confirm? Because it doesn't seem to look like regular ghosting to me. I'd like to get on the phone with my reseller or Sager directly (don't know who should be contacted really...) tomorrow, but I'm not hoping for much. Ship it in, pay for it, risk not getting it back on time... yeah, might as well find a lcd panel dealer in Europe.
Also heard something about just leaving the screen on a white bright background for a while, could that help?
