There is a $35 price tag on the 30 Day Pixel Guarantee. I know in the future it has been a topic of debate with some saying the pieces of mind is worth it.. Kinda like the extended warranty.. Anyone know anything about these new panels? I was assume the 15" IPS Panels w/ G-Sync is pretty new and different than the last gens IPS panels..

Should this be an item every grabs? I mean who wants a dead pixel on there new $1500+ laptop.. But, is it a common issue?

I think the panel just adds a GSync module , I believe the actual pixel display technology is the same. As in their is not a new pixel technology, lots of monitors seemed to be able to change basically nothing besides adding a GSync panel when they are released. I'm not 100% positive, but I don't think pixels are more likely to fail. It is possible to modify an existing monitor to use Gsync if you have the module I believe. I remember at one point there was supposed to be a DIY kit to add it to your monitor.

I don't think I have seen any numbers specifically on any systems with G Sync, but I would think dead pixels could still occur. They aren't common, it is a small chance they happen, but it is a chance. Generally manufacturers don't cover dead pixels until you get to a certain amount of them. So if you are going to be bothered by one potentially, then it would be worth it to have the screen checked for those before it is shipped out.

If I were to order from XoticPC what is the fee for checking before it ships in lieu of getting the warranty?

Oh yeah I agree, I just meant its not some weird new technology that increases the likelihood of a dead pixel, the pixels are the same technology. It can still happen though, and could be something worth buying depending on what you prioritize.
