    Pleas Help - x7200/7280 setup

    Ok so I purchased a MALIBAL nine x7200 (Clevo x7200/Sager 7280) with one 500 gb HDD. I had a ssd from an Alienware m17x R2 that I placed in the extra hard drive bay underneath the battery. I was wondering if it's possible/how to install windows onto that drive.

    I am pretty computer retarded, this is my first step to trying to be competent, so bear with me.


    Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

    congratz man thats a great rig youve got there,

    1) install the ssd into one of the unused slots.

    2) then check in the bios to make sure it recognizes it, if it doesn't recognize it ask one of the other members, who has more experience with troubleshooting ssds.

    3) turn it off, then put in the windows cd, and boot. if it doesn't automatically load the cd as the bootable device you have to change it in the boot selector.

    4) once it boots off the windows cd follow the steps until you come to the part where it asks where you want to install it. Click on the ssd and continue the installation.

    then once windows is installed reboot and access the boot selector and make sure the ssd is infront of the other hdd.

    Im not too much of an expert, but that is how i would do it.

    Yea I installed windows to the ssd, now I am trying to figure out how to show the original HDD, it's not showing up under my computer.

    i think it may be under one of the settings in the bios, like master and slave drive or something like that.

    also there may be a drive slot that is meant to be the one that you boot from. try changing the position of the hdds.

    Once you're in Windows, go to Start > right click My Computer > Manage > Disk Management.

    It should show up there as unallocated space. Right click on it and create a new partition.

    If it doesn't show up there, then it means your bios isn't detecting the drive.

    (This is all assuming that the drive was formatted. If it's already got data on it, it should just be showing up on it's own and the point above is probably the case there as well)
