    Please HELP ! GTX 680M on Clevo P170HMx does not work after update !!

    I have Clevo P170HM with GTX-580M
    I decided to update video on 680M
    I bought here Upgrade Kit GTX 680M
    Before purchase learned that the vBIOS would be the following... 80.04.29.00.01
    Today received, installed... Video card does not work!!!
    I received at start of a notebook such screen and all! Further goes nothing.

    P.S There is a thought that is a card is flash BIOS 80.04.29.00.01 for DELL GTX680M, instead of for Clevo GTX680M ??

    According to the eBay link you provided, your card is meant for upgrading P1x0EM Clevos - it has Optimus enabled VBIOS. You would need a card with Optimus disabled VBIOS - meant for upgrading P1x0HM Clevos. There is a chance that you may be able to blind-flash the required VBIOS using a bootable flash drive. Search the forum, guides are here. Worst case scenario - you may have to contact the eBay seller and exchange the card for the one with the right VBIOS.

    Stay away from Dell cards - they do not work in Clevo laptops.

    Your card is a clevo by the asset tags on the back and colour, so it should just need the right vbios on it.

    Aldus are you reading this?

    Lot's of 680m users with incompatible vbios and clevo hm series. The list is growing.

    Moral of story -Can I remind all new users buying 680m for HM series to request original owner to flash the vbios before sending it to you otherwise the unit wont work in your hm series clevo.

    I think that the ebay reseller sell the card with an upgraded vbios version (not the 80.04.29.00.01 original)
