Hi! sorry for my little english (i from Barcelona)

I have an issue with a Clevo M77cu model.

I buyed from pcw.fr , but i read in the CLEVO news page of taiwan that this shop cant use the name of Clevo officially.

I bought my laptop in june 2010. Temps are controlled and never use the laptop for stress the GPU with games or CAD, etc.. 2 weeks ago i see random
white screen, that dissapear when i down the lcd and up again.

I have send many emails to pcw.fr and seems nobody like read my problem. I think is a BAD reseller. I can inform to CLEVO.

Now i have black screen with 1 long beep and 2 short beeps (in the external vga and hdmi , black screen too).

If i press F1 "resume" the OS loads normally, i type my password and load ok, all this with black screen.

I think is a problem of bad contacts to the MOBO of the GPU ATI 4570 soldered, because the thermal changues.

Actually the leadfree soldering that´s used in all process of soldering since 2006 ROHS laws is the main problem, because dont have lead or silver, and make the soldering very RIGID and easy CRACKS the unions.

I can do reflow for test and then send to reball.

Where i can buy a new MOBO at good price and not refurbished?

WHY is HARD find spare parts of CLEVO notebooks?

    THANKS for YOUR ATTENTION

You should try to rework the soldering by yourself if you know what you are doing because the Clevo parts are expensive. There was a Clevo parts reseller with reasonable prices but he was cut off by Clevo at the direct request of one of major US resellers. The reason: so that you should buy a whole new laptop at almost each serious hardware problem you encounter during your ownership. Translation: the parts are purposely sold expensive so that the repair is not economically feasible.

OK. i understand that the all bussines related is about an obsolescence program.
How the incandescent bulbs made it for life only 1000 hours since 1960. There´s one bulb in a US fire station that the people each year celebrates his birthday from edison era 1800´s .

I contact a german service that can send me one mobo 170€ + 30€ send.

CAN I DO OVEN REFLOW AT 200 celsius about 20 min the low to 160 celsius for an ATI 4570 ??????

PLEASE I NEED DEATH TEMP FOR THAT ATI CHIP

    THANKS

Our business is not wrapped around planned obsolescence.
Send us your serial number and we'll make you an offer.
By the way: the GPU is included in the mainboard.
