Someone please help, my brother bought a used M860TU from ebay and after receiving it I decided to update the bios for him. After the update machine will not boot up, even though it reported that update was successful.
Surely there must be some way to recover it?
Having read up some, it now appears that I have not run EC.BAT prior to the flash, any possibility of running it now?

Well, unfortunately you've learned this the hard way. Do not update the bios unless you have a valid reason for doing so. Just wanting the latest version is not usually a good enough reason to risk bricking the laptop.

If the machine will not get to POST, then I don't think there's much left to do besides send it in for repair. If possible they'll swap out the bios/cmos chip, otherwise they'll replace the motherboard. Alternatively, you could purchase a replacement motherboard and do it yourself, but with your luck, I'd just say let someone else do it.

    Good luck.

Try taking out the power cord and battery, hold the power button for 30 secs and then put it together and try to boot.

Also try taking out the CMOS battery for 2 mins, put it back, maybe it will help.

Depending on what BIOS you have, there are sometimes ways to still reflash it even after a bad flash.

Some desktop motherboards have backup bios built in just for incidences like this. I'm not sure if Clevo uses a similar design but if it does, you might be in luck. Otherwise try what moral hazard suggested and if that doesn't work, then you need to change the bios chip or replace the motherboard.
