i am pretty close to getting a 5760

what exactly does a Port Replicator do?

    also.

    Video Adapters for External Monitors

is this just for if i want to use a dual monitor setup aside from my laptop screen?

i have a 26"W LCD and its only 768p. so, since the resolution is kinda low i'm only going to use it for watching movies from my laptop and stuff like that.

do i need either of these options? (i already have vga cables.)

A Port Replicator is a device that you plug into the back of your notebook into which you plug all of your peripherals, like your printer, external keyboard and mouse, scanner, USB devices etc., and if you get the Targus one you can plug in your external monitor as well. When you are ready to take your notebook with you as you leave you simply unplug your notebook from the Port Replicator and off you go, instead of having to unplug each of your peripherals from the notebook, and then of course instead of having to plug each of them back in when you return, you just plug your notebook back into the Port Replicator.

Your NP5760 already has a dual head video card, so you can plug one external monitor in. If you want two extenal monitors you will need one of the Video Adapters for External Monitors. Now if you want to get real fancy, you can get the VTBook PCMCIA adapter AND the Matrox DualHead2Go and have 3 external monitors, plus your laptop for a total of 4 screens.

    Donald,

Could you provide model #'s for the two port replicators so that we can check them out for ourselves. I've noticed that most Sager resellers only have a pull-down choice of the two.

    Thanks always,
    Chris

Just go to our Accessories Store and click on the "More Info" button next to each one.
