Hi, is it possible to upgrade an OLD Sager 4780 (P4 3.0 Ghz, 800 mhz bus) to a new cpu like a core 2 Duo? From what I understand the new core2's actually use less power then the original p4s so I'm sure the power will be there... The only thing I don't know about is the BIOS and will it recognize it.

    Has anyone done an upgrade?

The sockets won't be the same. The Core 2 uses Napa or Santa Rosa; not sure about P4, but I'm 99.9% sure it's different.

They use completely different socket, the motherboard won't support it.
