I NEVER Run the dead pixel program.

I don't want to know realy.

If i can see dead pixels in day to day use, then theres enought of a problem that i can get the display changed.

    If i run it...and find one....so what?
Can't realy exchange the LCD for just one.

My eye will be looking for it if i know it's there.

in this case, ignorance is Bliss!

here are some more with the natural mod ( which makes the game look really nice and improves perfromance). This is dx9 1440x900 all high except mods custom configs. I really love the face that it comes with an installer.exe which makes it a breeze to install/uninstall. Anywhere he are some pics that give dx9 some very high with no performance loss.

Natural Mod can be found here :

So how do we change between dx10 and dx9 for crysis? Some guy said that you have to go into the game tab in vista and right click crysis? I don't even know where that is.

well if you have vista and you want to play Crysis on DX9 the easiest way is to

click on the start menu (bottom left circle window)> (under music, pictures, documents) click "GAMES"> right-click crysis> "play in DX9".

    :)

In the configuration files for the game, there are specific values for every little detail you can think of.

In other words, instead of having medium / high / very high

You can go anywhere in between medium and high, or mix and match tons of crap.

It is almost endless. Some have gone through very vigorous testing to get optimal detail levels and still maintain decent FPS rates.

At Crymod.com they have tons and tons of guides. More information that I can sponge in a few hours.

You can change what "high setting" really means in your computer.

You just download their config file and set the settings to what they tell you, and it works.

Some of the most beautiful mods hvae tweaked the intensity of the shadows to give a much more vivid look. Its quite extraordinary, you should check it out.

for the 8800m gtx the game will run outright maxed out at more than 100 fps per second ( if the RTS isnt capped like most RTS's are) but i will download the demo and give you a heads up on it. Seriously though this isnt the type of game you want to see pics of because most 2-3 year old cards can run this game maxed out. Just a thought. :D

this is bioshock maxed out, dx10 options ON, VSYNC on (caps it at 60fps) all other options at there highest as well. I have to admit i am not really impressed by this game at all, the shooting mechanics are just rather silly, reminds me of wolfenstein. The 40's look is nice though but the game just doesnt do it for me. :)

Here's NFS Prostreet. Apparantly they lock the frames to 30 max, sometimes you might get 31 if you're lucky. This is 1680x1050 resolution with everything max except V-Sync off.

They are at 1900x1200 with everything on max and it´s pretty smooth (above 30fps at least) if you´re not playing a 4v4 in Imperial age. Though it´s not as smooth as I´d have thought it would be.

Uhh, I don't know why I'm getting gay frames then because I tried the same graphics options as you did and I'm averaging 40s. I'm using the 167.43 vista x64 drivers from laptopvideo2go. I have 0 bloatware and no extra crap running in the background. My laptop be running faster than yours since I have the T9300 and 4Gb ram.

EDIT: I think I had lower frames because it was outside, and that 36 FPS was when I was chopping the dude up.

thats strange man because you dont have VSYNC on like i do and your still getting worse performance. I played for 1 hour and never dropped below 42 fps. During gunfight, helicopter ride, never got below 42. Try turning VSYNC on and maybe for some reason the cap that it makes helps fps, i dunno what else to try as i have the 167.43 drivers too. Im not overclocked are you?

I did try with VSYNC on. My frames dont fall below 40 in the first act. I was in Act 5, the first mission in the screenshots that I provided. Could you try and see what frames you get there?

I'm already using the stock drivers so no problems there.

I haven't got the laptop yet (its on its way) but on the one i have now, i can switch between different powers settings from "quiet office" - "super performance", depending on what i select the laptop gpu will downclock itself to save power even on mains power

Well there's no Powermizer in the nVidia control panel so I'm assuming it's already running at max performance, since the GPU fans come on every 1 minute even though my CPU is idling at 29 degrees (According to Core Temp) and my Fn~3 (Medium Fans) are turned on. Also my vista mobility options are set on High Performance with Minimum Processor Power set at 100%.

make sure you have the 167.43 drivers. The only thing i can think is that it is vista 64 that might be causing an issue, download all the hotfixes. Because i played again today and on mist maps i never drop below 50fps.

yes, im guesssing its vista 64 bit.

to test that, you two (naticus and CpzAzn) should find out another game that they have the same and compare performance.

Just breezed through the single player campaign for COD4. Although short, but was an amazing experience to say the least. I can upload the pics, however can someone help me on what tools should i use to upload it here? I would also need to resize them to fit most resolutions?

I'm running crysis at 1400 x 1050, DX10 everything on high at ~20fps, no optimizations. Has anyone really pushed their 8800gtx yet in terms of overclocking? I'd rather find a means of tweaking Crysis for better performance at the same visual quality, but all the tweaks I've seen seem to focus on better (very high) visuals without performance loss. I'm using 169.09 and my clock speeds are at the default.

use FRAPS, its free and will take your pics.
    Download here

I would recommend you check out the cysis tweakguide found at Tweakguides.com. In particular read the advanced tweaking section, there are many tweaks to improve performance, some for example makes the game less realistic and graphic intesive.

also anther performance booster is try using newer drivers such as 167.43 or 169.28 from laptopsvideo2go. The 169.28 is a desktop driver can be tweaked to run on mobile chips. laptopvideo2go
