    Hi all,

So I was on my laptop earlier and it just shut off. Tried to restart it and it wouldn't. When the power cord is plugged into the wall and not into the laptop the power light is illuminated on the cord. When I plug it into the laptop and the wall, the lights on the laptop to indicate that the battery is charging do not illuminate, and the power indicator LED on the power cord just flashes, never stays solid. So, my question is what can I do to fix it if anything? Is it just the adapter plug in built into the laptop and maybe replace it or did the whole computer just blow?

I have a P150HM from clevo. Will give anymore info necessary :) Help please!

    Time for a new PSU.
The PSU is not something to tamper with or try to repair.

    Good luck.

Hey thanks for the reply; I tried a different power cord with the laptop and still nothing. Does this mean it is a problem with the actual notebook?

Does the laptop run without the PSU plugged in?

No it doesn't, but the problem is that it was unplugged for about a month so the battery is dead on it anyways but no can't get it to turn on without the PSU

yup, remove battery and power cable, also remove CMOS battery, let it sit there for several minutes, then put everything back together and try all possible cominations (with battery / with battery and psu / without battery and with psu) if it doesnt work either way, then it might be any permutation of your battery / psu / motherboard having gone to laptop heaven.

It is sounding like there's a chance that the problem is at the jack or with the board. Do try booting the system with both the battery and the charger, as well as without the battery and with the charger, after you've done a power cycle and CMOS reset (as suggested prior).

And what about trying with another power adapter :).
Even a 90-120w can show you if problem is from pc or adapter ( but don't heavily use it while on small power supply ^^)

I'm betting on power adapter fault !
