The power cord for my sager NP8690 is fraying. This is the cheap bit before the AC converter (expensive bit). I want to replace it asap but I can't find a obvious choice. It has e55943 written on the cord with 7A and 125V. Most replacements that amazon sells do not have the amps or volts reported. Do I have to match these? I found one that stated 110V.
Please help. I don't want my cord to go and not be able to play Skyrim.
Thanks.

If the piece you're referring to looks like this:
Newegg.com - BYTECC 6 ft. 18AWG Power Cord w/ 3 Conductor PC Power Connector – Black Model POWERCORD-6K
... it really doesn't matter which cord you use. The power that runs to your outlet (in the US) is 120 volt alternating current (VAC). I would recommend you get one rated for a computer power supply though (or you may already have spares laying around). Generally speaking, the thicker the cable, the higher the rating. -
Thanks MALIBAL,
But I don't believe that your suggestion will work. I need a mickey mouse cord or so they are called. I think I will go with this one unless someone can tell me why I shouldn't. It has only good reviews and looks thicker than the cheaper cords.

If that's what the plug on the end looks like, then the same thing applies. The only differences between those cables are the ends (they're rated the same most of the time). You shouldn't have any issues with the one you linked there
