So I was one of those that pre-ordered a 6990m with malibal way back in the beginning of August. It seemed like I would finally get my laptop this tuesday, but when I checked the tracking information today, I see that the shipping status is "exception."

The details show that the problem is with a missing "power of attorney" document, and that my shipping might be delayed.

I can't really call UPS today, since it's a holiday, and if it doesn't come tomorrow then my laptop would be once again delayed -___-. Malibal told me I would have to sort it out with UPS; except I can't today, and tomorrow means it would be delayed, yet again.

Has anyone else experienced this? I thought all the documentation was over with. What will I need to do? Thankss!

I logged in just to see if anyone else has this problem... I have it as well. I don't know what to do about it though. :(

I think you need to contact UPS and grant them Power of Attorney, so that they can get the package through customs on your behalf.

Nice to know they shipped it all the way onto the other side of the country... I will have to give UPS a call tomorrow, AND get an exchange on a printer I bought today; I paid for a higher-end model, and they put a lower-end model in the back of my car. *sigh*

EDIT: Straight from UPS' Support website:

I've seen this happen with a couple of our orders, but it never lasts long. I believe all the necessary paperwork is included with the package and UPS only really has that indicator up for a couple of hours.

They just gave me a phone call today, and this whole thing was because I had purchased the laptop under my company's name, so they needed my company's tax number. Well, another day of waiting for me, but entirely not Malibal's fault.

Just a word of caution for Canadians buying a Clevo/Sager from the US: If you're purchasing the laptop under your company's name, expect UPS to be incompetent flops at getting your shipment to your house.

The next-day air that Malibal paid for is now taking as long as UPS Standard, which is highly upsetting. Every time I phone in, they just tell me "it will arrive the next day". USPS is the way to go, even if I hear about stuff getting stuff stuck in customs. What an utter disaster UPS is when it comes to working with companies.

Entirely not Malibal's fault, but in the future they should consider USPS for Canadian orders just so nobody else gets burned by UPS' incompetence.

Yep, well for me, it sorted itself out. Finally received my laptop today. It's in great condition. I might write a review, but the laptop is amazing. Thanks Malibal.

Great to hear you received your laptop! I have to wait an extra two days, which is a bummer for me, but even more of a bummer for Malibal, as they are the ones who paid to upgrade this thing to "next-day air"!
