Does anyone know of a way to get Powermizer working with Vista x64 and the stock 167.44 drivers?

I saw one person suggested a modded INF but another reported it didn't work. Does anyone know for sure if it is available on Vista x64 at all?

My laptop likes to inconsistently downclock my GPU when on battery power and it is getting rather annoying. I take a ferry for about an hour a day and I like to be able to game. (Incidentally I'm rather happy that this laptop lasts the entire ride while gaming!)

I still have to do some testing, but I might have gotten it to lock in the high performance GPU settings by putting it on Hibernate while plugged in as opposed to powering it down completely. When it comes back up from Hibernate the high GPU settings persist. But it isn't 100% and sometimes it clocks back down.

Any suggestions would be great. I'm also downloading some of the new 167.62 and 171.20 drivers that came out, also considering trying the 169.26 desktop driver.

Just got done trying those, installed no problem following their instructions.

Sadly, no Powermizer options (Maybe they are definitely only WinXP). More sadly, it still cuts the graphics card power down when not plugged in. Ugh! :(

    I tried 174.31, 171.20 desktop drivers and 167.62

All of them performed the same, all got me between 10,000-10,080 3dMark06.

All of them also downclocked massively on battery power.

So for now I just rolled back to 167.44, since I know how they work and don't have any other issues with them.

On another note, I am able to consistently get around the downclocking thing when unplugged...

Just hibernate instead of powering off when you're done using it plugged in. When resuming from hibernate the video card still performs in full power mode.

With this I can game in Power Saving mode with GPU at full power. Battery lasts about an hour.
