-
Wow.... interesting!
Hi Justin... long time!
-

-
all Sager resellers should have it up near the same time.
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Hi Prasad! It has been a long time.
The official launch time is 5PM PST tonight. Take a look at that time and you will see many sellers have it up for pre-order.
-
Wonder how long one has to save up for this bbbbbbeA-ST with MINIMUM wage.
-
Miss Malevolent Notebook Consultant
Sheesh, finally!!!
-
what eta on shipping?? will it be like the w90 that take up to 2 month before it ship?
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
ETA is approximately mid July from what we have been told at this time.
-
Nope, now is when the really hard waiting begins - up until now no-one's had any skin in the game - no real financial/emotional investment in this thing - but now, once someone pulls the trigger and makes a pre-order, that person immediately becomes invested in this particular system, and will be a Royal PITA to everyone in her/his vicinity until s/he's got the thing in hand - at which point s/he will disappear as if kidnapped by aliens.

Finally indeed...It is now available for pre-order with shipping to begin Mid-July
-
I was going to get this, but the glossy surface turned me off completely .
-
Guys, totally new to this multi-cpu/gpu thing....Would you recommend getting a quad processor? Do demanding games need 4 cores (?) to run smoothly? Are they even capable of utilizing this technology? Or should I get a higher clocked Intel T9900 instead? If so, what quad processor would you recommend?
If there's a thread on this, please kindly point me to it. Thanks folks.
EDIT: Found.
-
Very tempting...But, no i7...Sure would have be nice have an i7 in it.
Figure with this huge chassis that it could accomidate the i7's and keep the temps in the safety range...But, guess not. I wonder if this was even tested with the i7's?
If it did have this option, then mine would be going back
I think the NP9280 will still be stable in the laptop market(for now)with the i7's -
Ya i was hoping they were going to change the surface to a matte finish myself , i know the shiny surface looks great , until you actually touch it
. Still the pricing for even the base config is very nice .
-
You would need at least a consumer friendly 300w laptop PSU to get it to run.
-
Hey donald , any idea if the Sager is a dual bulb screen or just a single ?.
Thanks -
uhhh any word if this thing is overclockable? I will be buying either a decked out 9280 or an AW m17x, will depend on the reviews of each system... I fear AW's system will have problems... as usual.
-
300 watt or a small nuclear reactor!!!

No, but I will find out! -
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
Quad, it is Dual Lamp.
-
Whoa nice, Can you find out if its Edge to Edge or just a plain screen , im praying for the plain one as i hated the Edge to edge on the W90
.
-
Donald@Paladin44 Retired
Sorry Quad...it is edge to edge.
What did you hate about it on your W90? -
lol the 9850 is 1200 dollars cheaper than the m17x for the exact same specs.
-
Edge To Edge Pwns Its Hot
-
Justin, have you actually tested or seen one of these units yet? I know you said the screen is dual lamp....is it pretty much the same screen that is on the asus W90?
-Scotty -
Man oh man, 2400 with SLI 280s? I so want one...pffffff....
-
Justin@XoticPC Company Representative
From what I know only Samsung makes the 18" LCD's. I personally have not seen a 9850 yet. As soon as they are in we will get a unit for evaluation/testing.
-
The reflection from the glass is just crazy. Theres glossy screens then theres Glass screens which are more like a mirror, i have no clue why companies are headed in this direction honestly. Glossy screens already made the colors and such more vibrant but alll the glass does is ad a layer infront of that and it does nothing for the picture IMHO .
-
Thats why i was wondering if it was dual bulb , as far as i knew theres only 2 companys that make the panels Chi mei and Samsung , i had both in my W90s and neither were nearly bright enough, 2 bulbs will help compensate for that glass if there really bright .
-
LOL? r u drunk or what?
-
US dollars? I have a calculator you can buy.
-
is the processor of the M980NU user upgradeable?
-
How overclockable is this rig? When can we expect an in-depth review?
-
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
Yeah definitely need the rundown on the Bios options, and then supplemented with thermal figures for overclocking and noise levels. -
How about a total new machine with core I5 and dual graphic cards? woot.
-
Maybe his calculator did 120^10 and he didn't noticed? lol
-
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
Maybe Clevo will get these out sooner rather than later...we hope. At least they are now posting the drivers for the M980NU!

In ref to the posts about the screen quality, it is (in my opinion) a better quality screen and no more reflective then the ones in the 570 or 860.
-
Thanks Neil, it could be that Sager while using a glass coating is not as reflective as other glass offerings i have seen, i know the glossy screens are reflective but the glass one i had on my last machine would pick up every bit of light and seemed 10x more reflective then a standard glossy screen.
-
With mostly maxed out specs it was 1200 dollars cheaper ._.

So... If u r not drunk can you stop trolling ? -
and 500+$ for AW's tax?
-
Not to forget that it's also around $350 more expensive for Canadians and even more so for Europeans.
-
It's a state tax and as far i know by law when the seller doesn't collect the tax u should pay it to local franchise tax board (what doesn't really means that ppl actually do it) so whats your point?, dura lex sed lex
...
Actually it's 73% more expensive for me but i don't think we are talking about non-EUA prices here
-
Those are the prices i got after converting it to canadian dollars, adding tax and duty, shipping and stuff (No duty for the 9850 since its made in Us)
So why don't you shut up and stop assuming stuff ^^
Pre-Order for the 9850 (M980NU) TOMORROW!
