So, I must ask, how come you went from a 15" to a 17"?

Why didn't you get the np5793 or 6 in the first place?

    Just curious.

heh. I realized that for my needs as far as CAD goes that the 17" would be better and I also realized the heat issues and such from the 15.4" so hence the switch. Plus we all know this thing cools well.

I hope they get the fan issue fixed for you guys with this update. I have the 9262 with a Q9550 and am simply amazed how quiet this system is.

Loud fans is an acceptable substitution for keeping it cool, rather than it melting and causing all sorts of headaches.

How'd you swing that? Was it a limited-time promotion or something? Should I be bargaining with Justin? ;D

The free 4g ram upgrade doesn't matter price is still the same. If i recall correctly the prices for the preorder were like $40 more than the actual price on release.

Actually, those that ordered the NP5793 and ended up with the NP5796 typically received a refund of at least $75...and they all received 4GB DDR3/1066 memory
