Each motherboard and CPU can be different, not every cpu could do 2133mhz as they were only validated to 1600mhz by intel.

I've checked sticks with my old Dell M4700 and i7-3720QM and it booted up. I took the CPU from M4700 and insterted to P370EM but still no boot with 2133mhz sticks.

Nope, in P370EM I've tried all 4 slots. In M4700 works with every slot.

Does your bios have unlocked options at all? Any ram settings?

    Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum and this thread seems like the right place to post this:

Thank you, @Prema for giving options to the people! I would like to make a donation. Nothing big, because my resources are limited at the moment...But definitely some recognition. It really warms my heart to see projects like yours take place. How can I make it? Provided that you would accept it, of course!

Also, really sorry to hear that some people misused their freedom and now we all lost. I, for one, own a Clevo W230ss from around 2014 that would probably benefit from Prema Bios (and possibly VBios) mods. It seems to be difficult or downright impossible to get those legitimatelly these days.

I will investigate my options on the side, maybe I can do some things without it. So far, I think I will install a 4940mx on my machine. I've heard it can be tweaked with an intel program for overclocking purposes, although I don't know if the stock bios can block that. Also, I'm trying to make an egpu setup work on it. All for the sake of extending its useful life and also not falling into the trap of having to buy a new one every few years...

Edit: Prema did contact me and offered the modded bios and a donation link! So I suppose you CAN get it as of 2020 provided you give credit to the author and keep the files to yourself, although maybe I just got lucky!

    Hey guys,

I've read around here something about Prema partners. By what I've gathered they are/were shops that include the Prema Bios in their machines.

All links that I've found are broken, tho.

Are there still Prema partners? If so, were can I find a list or something close to it?

Perhaps it was at some point, but now the site is empty except for a field to type in your email for a newsletter.

I want to know who supports this kind of work in case I need a new system in the future or need to recommend one.

Right now, the three I know are:

    Ztecpc ( https://ztecpc.com/)
    HIDevolution ( https://www.hidevolution.com/)
    LPC-Digital ( https://lpc-digital.com/)

    Thanks!

All three are based in the US. No luck for me, as I currently dwell in Europe.

I suppose, given the situation, I could try and order from abroad...But that would be a pretty penny in taxes, most likely.

Also, is it possible to have it flashed on your machine by a partner for a fee?

The Prema Partner program is in a bit of a flux right now, but the new program will be announced by @Prema soon.

Recent history says Prema Partners only installed the Custom Prema BIOS on the systems they build. They are prohibited by the agreement with Prema to be sold individually to end users.

    Hey, Donald

Thanks for taking the time to post this!

I could imagine there were conditions in place. Prema helped me a few days ago with a BIOS for a somewhat old model and I want to observe caution with these things. Common sense goes a long way, but I'd rather ask when I can!

I think I'll try to contact him directly. Wish me luck! The guy is no doubt busy.

You will have more tangible results if you return your laptop and buy from an approved vendor :)

Is there any way to get in touch with @Prema to purchase the BIOS for my P870DM-G?

I had no idea the @Prema BIOS existed or I would have purchased from LPC-Digital instead of XOTIC PC. Yes, I should have done some research, but I needed a new laptop fast and (at the time) the Sager NP9870 was so damn sexy. It perfectly fit the bill for an ECAD, MCAD, and software engineering laptop (that could also handle some "recreational" gaming).

    [XOTIC PC Rant] TLDR;
BTW: Avoid XOTIC PC! Their customer service and "Heatsink Upgrade" are HORRIBLE. They affixed tiny copper heatsinks to the heat pipes in my P870DM-G for the "upgrade"; which started falling off a few days after the warranty expired. One fell off and shorted out the MB before I could open up the laptop and remove it, frying the processor and parts of the MB. The warranty had expired a couple weeks before and they refused to do anything about it. Ended up spending over $800 on parts to fix a 2 year old $3000 laptop. The only replacement mainboard I could find was a Clevo; which has the Clevo BIOS and occasionally boots to a blank screen.

Sorry about the XOTIC PC rant. The whole situation just pisses me off every time I think about it.

With this bios I have read that I could not upgrade video card, but with a more recent bios it's possibile.

I just upgraded the P17SM-A to a GTX 1060 so that is untrue. Prema said that this version of the BIOS leads to throttling regardless of temperatures. But this is the latest one.

That one looks newer, don't know what it is.
The last official BIOS for P170SM-A is Bios 1.03.11 and EC 1.03.09.
    http://repo.palkeo.com/clevo-mirror/P1xxSM-A/

EDIT: I did some digging and found out that the one from Eurocom is identical to the 1.03.11 version except that it has a Secure Boot bug fixed, making the laptop 100% Windows 10 compliant.
