Sorry if theres a sticky around for this information but I can't seem to find any tutorials on flashing a Gtx 680m card to vbios 80.04.29.00.01. If possible can someone post

    1. Flashing files needed (gtx vbios 80.04.29.00.01 for p170hm)
    2. Guide to flashing 680m gpu using a clevo X7200

    Thanks

edit: I found this info but the download links are dead. https://www.techinferno.com/index.php?/forums/topic/1482-p150hm-and-gtx680m-yes-we-can/

If you only have an HM system and your GTX680M has a different vBIOS than v29 Clevo (or MSI v33), then it depends on the actual vBIOS on the card. If it uses v33 Clevo then you need to wait 15m before it passes boot and then just use my NVFLASH Toolkit in windows (instructions included.
If it uses v67 vBIOS then you need to flash it this way:

    https://www.techinferno.com/index.p...oot-blind-flash-a-non-booting-gpu-in-windows/

    v29 vBIOS is here:

It's v67. I'm having a hard time understanding "bridging" pins on the card. How can I do this with tweezers alone? I thought bridging would require soldering the two pins but if tweezers can then please enlighten me as It seems less complicated and more straight forward
    Thanks Prema

Yes just use tweezers...the PINs are large so it's not too difficult..
(They only need to be bridged until boot has passed.)
If your system has no picture (internal/external) then you may need to blind-flash in DOS, otherwise just use my Windows Tool).

    Good Luck! :)

So did you end up buying a different motherboard or believe it's just the VBIOS issue? I am down for it, as you know.

I checked your blog and searched. Prema do you offer any Bios Mods for Clevo P170hm that I can try? The Bios options are extremely limited. Having the additional "Fine Tuning" options would be so wonderful. Thanks again

I suggest getting the 5 posts on their to get life time access to the files, to anyone thinking of using the resources you may as well get them done now rather than later and you may learn something in the process.

Thanks for your response. At least someone is out there listening. I just went ahead and made a donation to the site to get what I need. Going to do the blind flash tonight. I hope it works. Those guy are providing a lot of helpful things, so I didn't mind the donation, thanks again, V/R Brien

Hey @Meaker@Sager I recently bought a 680m for my p150hm. It ran ok at first then I flashed it to the stock v29 vbios and it was running a lot better. it came with the msi vbios and it had a lot of artifacts in game and was clocked higher than the clevo bios is. anyways then I flashed another bios and that seemed ok, all using the windows nvflash. I had one of the guys on techinferno, klem, make me a vbios that had the vendor name changed as a test to make sure bios was getting properly installed. it worked, but then I went to restart and my laptop bluescreened during the shutdown and I missed the code, then after trying to start it, the screen wont turn on. so i put my 485m back in and it boots fine, then I set up a dos environment on a usb and tested that it works, and also loaded an autoexec.bat onto it to flash the v29 vbios that had worked before. I set it to boot from usb, then reinstalled the card and then attempted to boot it. the led on the usb stick does not turn on, so then I tried the tweezer trick, and that also did not work. however it does make the laptop beep 5 times when it turns on, sometimes...? anyways im at the point where i think id be better of having someone flash it in their two bay machine, or other setup. any advice? also its an msi 4gb card, and the vbios chip is the flat type with pads that are underneath, however the pinout as per the spec sheet is the same and there are exposed solder balls, they are soft though and hard to grab, which would explain the intermittent beeping. I also read that 4 beeps is a bad gpu. thanks again.

Usually the bios is on an 8 pin SOP package (often with a coloured dot). I would suggest flashing it in an SLI machine as the secondary or removing and manually flashing the chip.

The '0000' ID is an HM system BIOS limitation and can not be fixed via a vBIOS.
We can not change IDs on Clevo's via vBIOS (only Kepler GTX5xxM and below). Flashing something like that simply bricked the card. As Meaker said, better get it flashed to stock in another system...

Sign up on the techinferno forum, make a few quality posts and get promoted, then you are allowed to download. Most likely nobody will send it to you as it violates techinferno's distribution channel.
